Ballistic Speyline

Ballistic Speylines

“Ballistics – the art of designing and accelerating projectiles to achieve a desired performance”

Ballistic Speylines are made and designed with the ultimate power transfer and flight characteristics in mind, making Ballistic Speylines perfect for either the professional caster, or the fisherman who is just learning how to cast. Proportional modelling is used when designing each series to ensure that consistency in the flight and roll of the line is maintained.

Ballistic Speyline Express Series

Ballistic Express Spey Casting Salmon Shooting Head is an incredibly popular Scandi-style Speyline due to its incredibly smooth, powerful casting. The layout performance gives great shootability, and is perfect for an underhand casting style – it’s a real blast to cast! This ease of casting is achieved through the balanced proportions of front, belly and rear tapers – the powerful front tapers are extremely powerful and range from 16 – 24 feet, and the rear tapers range from 6 – 9 feet, establishing a graduated scale. Together these features create a Speyline which has optimal flight characteristics and is brilliant for tight and technical fishing situations – a trademark of all Ballistic Spey Lines.

Ballistic Speyline Vector Series

The Ballistic Speyline Vector lines are designed to be very user friendly, yet lend themselves to advanced casting techniques due to optimized front and rear tapers. Incorporated in the design is the natural growth of line length with line weight, since these proportions are typically inherent in most rod designs, too. This concept of line growth with line weight generally provides the best fit of rod and line, since larger weight rods tend to be longer.

The most significant aspect of the Vector design is its smooth, powerful, and consistent layout performance, even during long casts. This is achieved through balanced proportions of front, belly and rear tapers. All of these features were blended together to establish the optimal flight characteristics, as with all Ballistic Speylines.
